Why are opposition leaders taking to the streets against the Election Commission? At the heart of the Delhi protest are serious questions over voter lists, electoral-roll revisions...

The opposition, particularly the INDIA bloc led by Congress, is demanding several changes over the Election Commission’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and what it calls “vote chori.” The main demands include:

  1. Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar :- Opposition parties have repeatedly demanded his removal, alleging that the Election Commission has mishandled the voter-list revision. The Election Commission and BJP reject allegations of political bias or wrongdoing. Reuters
  2. Use of the pre-SIR voter list for future elections :- The INDIA bloc has asked that the electoral roll existing before the SIR exercise be used, rather than relying on disputed revisions. The Indian Express
  3. Full transparency in voter-list revisions :- The opposition wants constituency- and booth-level information about additions, deletions and corrections to electoral rolls to be made available. The Indian Express
  4. Notice and appeal before deletion :- They want eligible voters to receive proper notice, reasons for deletion and an effective opportunity to appeal before their names are removed from the electoral roll. The Indian Express
  5. Restoration of wrongly deleted voters :- Congress has specifically demanded restoration of names it says were removed during the SIR process, along with independent, time-bound investigations where serious discrepancies are found. Scroll.in
  6. Greater scrutiny of the Election Commission's internal decisions :- Opposition leaders have also demanded disclosure of dissenting opinions reportedly recorded by other Election Commissioners regarding electoral-roll decisions. The Indian Express

There is also a separate political demand for returning to paper ballots instead of EVM-based voting, which the INDIA bloc included in its broader electoral-reform campaign.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 offers very good photography with sharp daylight images, vibrant colors, and reliable portrait shots. Its 3× optical zoom is useful for capturing distant subjects. Low-light photography and high-zoom shots are less impressive. Overall, it's a good choice for everyday photography and social media.

Both “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Siya Ram” are devotional expressions associated with Lord Rama. What is the difference?

Both “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Siya Ram” are devotional expressions associated with Lord Rama. The difference is mainly one of emphasis and tradition, rather than a disagreement about Lord Rama.

  1. “Jai Shri Ram” (जय श्री राम) means roughly “Victory/glory to Lord Ram.” It focuses directly on Lord Rama and is widely used as a devotional greeting and chant.
  2. “Jai Siya Ram” (जय सिया राम) invokes Sita (Siya) and Rama together. “Siya” is a traditional name for Goddess Sita. Devotees who use this expression often emphasize the inseparable relationship of Sita and Rama and the ideal of their divine partnership.

Technology in sense not only social media like Facebook or Twitter but also mobile, video calling etc...

Technology connects people globally, enabling instant communication and fostering relationships across distances. It supports finding communities, sharing ideas, and collaborating on a global scale. Social media raises awareness and encourages empathy. However, it can also create shallow connections and misunderstandings.

Overuse may lead to isolation from real-world interactions. Algorithms can amplify divisions by showing biased content. Digital divides exclude those without access, widening social gaps. Virtual communication lacks the depth of face-to-face interaction. While it unites people, it can also distract from meaningful moments. Technology’s impact depends on how and why it’s used.
